Fanatics Becomes Official Granter of Sport Wishes for Make-A-Wish Foundation
Fanatics is known for as the one stop shop for all sports fans’ apparel and gear needs, in addition to be one of the most culturally connected brands in the world. Michael Rubin and Fanatics have become synonymous with lifestyle, fashion, music and culture, hosting some of the world’s biggest and most star-studded events around tentpole moments every year. When Fanatics announced their partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Berk team was tapped to bring public awareness and media attention to the partnership and all that has entailed since.
In October 2023, Berk was tasked with supporting the announcement that Fanatics had become the official granter of sports wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Over a year later, the team has helped to amplify Fanatics’ various wishes granted across most major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, MLB All-Star Game, WWE World, NHL All-Star Game, inaugural Fanatics Fest NYC and much more.
By tapping into legendary athletes and friends of Fanatics Tom Brady, Jason Tatum and Aaron Judge to surprise multiple children for the kickoff of the Make-A-Wish partnership in New York City, the Berk team was able to secure various on-site and embargoed interviews with top tier media such as Good Morning America, People, USA Today, the New York Post, Forbes and more. The news was organically picked up in addition to widespread pitching which garnered over 170+ placements that resulted in over 1.15 billion impressions.
Since the launch, Berk has helped secure media for wish granting events that have occurred around major tentpole moments in sports throughout the year. Such events and wishes include Toronto Maple Leafs standout Auston Matthews at the NHL All-Star Game, WWE superstars Rey Mysterio and Charlotte Flair at WWE World, Hall of Famer David Ortiz at the first ever Fanatics Fest NYC, Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons, Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams, and Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin during Super Bowl LVIII, baseball stars Ferguson Jenkins and Prince Fielder at the 2024 MLB-All Star Game and more.
